We stumbled upon a great post at WalletHub that looks at the best and worst cities to find a job in the US.  It’s a real eye-opener. WalletHub.com has analyzed the 150 most populated cities to determine the best and worst job markets in the US. You may want to relocate if you keep reading.

WalletHub  based the study on two factors: the Job Market and the Socioeconomic Environment. Each city is ranked based on 16 different criteria, including things like:

  • Number of Job Opportunities
  • Employment Growth
  • Monthly Median Starting Salary
  • Unemployment Rate for High School Graduates
  • Unemployment Rate for People with Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
  • % of Employed Workforce Living Under Poverty Line
  • Median Annual Income
  • Housing Affordability

Based on the overall rankings, WalletHub determined the best and worst cities to find a job:

  • Seattle, WA
  • Des Moines, IA
  • Gilbert, AZ
  • Sioux Falls, SD
  • Fremont, CA

Lowest Overall Rank

  • Memphis, TN
  • Hialeah, FL
  • Detroit, MI
  • Moreno Valley, CA
  • San Bernardino, CA
