Casino Hard Count Attendants
People working in this or similar hard count positions at a casino will primarily count coins, wrap them, and otherwise prepare them for bank drops or to go back on the floor.
(Soft count attendants or specialists, on the other hand, work strictly with paper or "soft" currency, thus the distinction between the two.) People employed to count change usually do so in the hard count room, away from the distractions of the casino floor. At most casinos this is an entry-level position in which the employee answers to either the hard count lead or hard count manager. Requirements include excellent math skills. Previous cashiering experience is also helpful. In most cases hard count employees are paid an hourly wage around $7, without the benefit of tips.
