Created in 1938, Pinnacle is a Las Vegas based gaming and hospitality company that owns and operates casinos in the United States, the Bahamas and until recently Argentina.

Once purely a racing concern concentrated in Phoenix, Arizona, the company is focused on expansion and is now a leading riverboat operator, managing resorts in New Orleans, Bossier City, and Reno, as well as the Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in southern Indiana and the new L'Auberge Du Lac Resort in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Based in Las Vegas since 2002, the firm's casinos operate under the Boomtown and Casino Magic banners. Pinnacle also owns an Embassy Suites hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. On February 9, 2008, voters in the East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, approved a referendum supporting the development of a new resort (Pinacle's Riviere Resort), which is expected to be larger than the combined size of both of the competing riverboats.
