Casino Slot Technicians

People working as slot technicians (also known as slot mechanics) usually must have specialized training in the field or have a background in electronics or mechanics.

They are responsible for overhauling, troubleshooting, and repairing slot equipment. Since a large portion of the profits at today's casinos are generated through the use of slot machines, the technician is a very important person indeed. Technicians must be dependable, as they often work on tight schedules, attending to several machines during a shift. Typically, there is little turnover in this job, so there are not a lot of entry-level positions. However, as new casinos open, additional slot technician jobs will be created. Pay is either hourly or salary, up to about $40,000 a year, without the benefit of tips.
