Sasquatch is a three-day outdoor music and camping festival held at the scenic Columbia Gorge Amphitheater in Washington. Each year, usually on Memorial Day weekend, thousands of residents of Oregon and Washington flock to the festival to see popular bands, hike the gorge, visit Washington wineries, and enjoy three days of music and camping. Assuming the weather holds that is. The concert, put on by LiveNation is another popular music festival that takes place in the western United States, just miles away from where the grunge era began years ago, in Seattle, Washington.
JOBS AT SASQUATCH
There is limited information about jobs available at Sasquatch that aren’t provided by Live Nation, from food vendors or workers of the Columbia Gorge Parks Department. For temporary weekend jobs at the festival you will have the best luck in your job search by doing volunteer work or trying to get a job working as a food vendor. However, because Sasquatch is a large outdoors camping festival it is known for not supplying much food to concert goers that they didn’t bring themselves.
Knowing a provider in your area, or trying to call or write information at Sasquatch will be your best bet in finding information on jobs such as these. No volunteer information is listed on the Sasquatch site, but the Columbia Gorge Parks Department and LiveNation need volunteers for set up and break down, information desks and parking and camping regulations. It is possible to do volunteer work at the concert, but it may not result in free passes or many of the other concert’s enjoyable volunteer perks
All other hiring and most of the hiring for the event is done by LiveNation, a concert PR, marketing, planning and event organization company.
All hires for the Amphitheatre at the Columbia Gorge are also done through LiveNation since it books and facilitates all concerts that take place there. The best way to start your search is to look at the current Live Nation job openings in the JobMonkey Job Center. This is a great way to get involved in the concert industry, public relations, or music marketing. Since LiveNation promotes and schedules events all over the world there are jobs available at multiple locations.
If you are a frequent concert attendee or have been to Sasquatch before, asking around at the festival for the best way to get involved is highly recommended. Learn first hand about the jobs available in the concert industry from workers themselves. Also, find out about music industry jobs in a separate section of JobMonkey.
Sometimes on the spot hires for weekend festival work will occur, although it isn’t highly recommended to travel or expect a hire to work in this way.
