Becoming an Engineering Manager
A person working as an engineering manager must have excellent communication skills, as well as a strong aptitude for mathematics. This person is responsible for implementing the technical and scientific goals set out by management.

They may work for a manufacturing company, research firm, or be involved with developing new products for their employer. To do this kind of work, the basic educational requirement is a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. You may want to specialize in a specific type of Engineering for your undergrad work. Some people working in this capacity have an advanced degree, such as a Master of Science in Engineering. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) may also be helpful. To be considered for an engineering manager’s position, you will probably need to have 8 or 10 years of relevant work experience first.
