There are a ton of great new job leads over at the Job Center right now, including many exciting positions to work abroad. There are also a host of great resort jobs, which is my focus today. (Of course, working at a resort abroad is also an option – and I even have one such job for you today!) If you’d like to learn more about what’s involved with working at a vacation resort, be sure to check out JobMonkey’s guide to Resort Jobs.

1. General Manager Job, Westin Hotels and Resorts, Oahu, HI
Westin Hotels is looking for a seasoned professional with at least 3-5 years of upscale hotel or fine dining managerial experience to serve as the new General Manager of its Beachhouse and Banyan Veranda properties. The individual must be a proven leader with relevant sales and marketing expertise, an acute customer focus, attention to detail and business savvy. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly preferred.

2. Horseback Guide, Alaska Excursions, Skagway/Juneau, AK
This is a totally different kind of resort job — much more rough and adventuresome than working at a hotel in Hawaii. But for the right candidate, this could be the job of a lifetime. Alaska Excursions is seeking a high school graduate to be responsible for driving a 15-passenger van, giving narrated tours from the cruise ship docks to the ranch, and guiding clients on a two-hour horseback excursion. The guide must be able to saddle and unsaddle, feed and upkeep the horses, as well as clean and fuel the vans. Horse experience is necessary, as are good people skills.

3. Banquet Manager Job, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, Sydney, New South Wales
I promised a “work abroad” resort position and here it is! The Sheraton in New South Wales is seeking a banquet manager for its upscale hotel group situated in the tree-lined oasis of Hyde Park in Sydney. This hands-on job requires a candidate with unwavering customer service focus, outstanding relationship management, refined English communication skills, and a proven ability to implement improvement initiatives. Candidates must have past experience in fine dining and/or hotel management, along with proven ability to be a team player.

Good luck in your job search!
