Hunter Ski Area Profile

Hunter Ski Resort consists of three mountains: Hunter One, Hunter Mountain, and Hunter West. It is the closest major ski resort to New York City. You’ll find smiling people from all walks of life working in the area, as well as wonderfully prompt service.

Winter Activities

The three spectacular mountains at Hunter are proudly covered by fresh powder made by an extensive snowmaking system.

Skiing has been available at Hunter since 1959 and consists of forty-seven trails and slopes. Providing for all types of skiers, Hunter has a variety of expert, intermediate, and beginner slopes. Skiers can definitely be challenged at Hunter. This is the home of the longest and highest chairlift in the East, the Hunter Mountain Skyride.

Skiing is basically the only outdoor activity during the winter months; however, the excellent bookstores and other shops in town are great for exploration.
