INTRODUCTION: SKI PATROL JOBS |
|
The 27,000 men and women of the National Ski Patrol (NSP) system help skiers and snowboarders in danger across North America by providing emergency, rescue, and educational services. There is no better action job on the mountain. Each day is different
than the one before. A patroller can have several serious rescue experiences one day, just a few the next, and then follow those days up with an afternoon of giving directions to skiers new to the mountain. Whatever the events of the day, patrollers rarely work alone. Diagnosing and patching injuries, stopping bleeding, bringing people out of shock, and getting them quickly to professional medical help takes well-rehearsed teamwork. It also takes training and dedication.
