Using Phones and Mail Service in Indonesia
You won't find too many operative phone booths in Indonesia; better to head to an upscale hotel or a Wartel office to place a call.These telecom centers provide phone and fax services at reasonable rates, often with English-speaking assistance.

Letters and postcards from Indonesia take two to three weeks to reach North America. The system itself seems to be efficient, though you wouldn't know it from the chaos of Indonesian post offices.
