It has obviously been a tough year for travel and most of us are really anxious to start traveling again. Although we are not quite ready to promote GOAT (Go Out And Travel) as we did in pre-COVID times. We do feel that with taking safety precautions, the ability to safely travel significantly more is not too far off.
So, we thought it was a good time to share some of our favorite essential travel products.
Human Gear GoToobs
We have used these travel bottles for years and still love them. Use for your shampoo, face soap, lotions, etc. They are also airplane carry-on approved! Check these out on Amazon.
LARQ Self-Cleaning Water Bottle
These self-cleaning water bottles are great for travel or daily use. We use them for both! They use innovative non-toxic mercury-free UV-C LED technology to sanitize water and clean the inner surfaces of the bottle by neutralizing odor-causing bacteria and viruses.

NEW: Apple AirTags
These are new from Apple and we are excited to get some. We plan on using them on each of our bags and backpacks to keep track of them incase they go missing. View the New Apple AirTags on Amazon
Twelve South AirFly Pro (Wireless Transmitter/Receiver)
We use these to watch the in-flight entertainment system movies with our wireless AirPods. You can pair two sets of AirPods with it, so you and your travel mate can share the signal and watch the movie together. It is so nice to travel and not have to use corded earbuds to watch in-flight movies. (They also pair with most other Bluetooth headphones and earbuds.) These BACtrack breathalyzers are great and definitely worth considering. It is something you don’t really know you need, but if you ever drink outside your home, you do. Whenever I go out for drinks, I ALWAYS make sure I am well under the legal limit before I get behind the wheel of my car. These are very compact and have professional-grade accuracy. View on Amazon.
We swear by these Wellness Formula immunity booster tablets. When you are feeling a little worn down or some kind of bug coming on, take two tablets a few times a day for a day or two. They work really well for me and I don’t travel without them. Many people take them daily for regular immune health, but I just take them when needed. Personally, I like the tablets over the capsules, but pretty sure they both work the same. Buy at quality drug stores and grocery stores or on Amazon here.
Nuun Hydration Tablets
Staying hydrated is essential while traveling (and in daily life). These electrolyte drink tablets were designed for long-distance cyclists but work great for anyone. Rumor is that many people also use them to help minimalize hangovers after a night out on the town. A tube is always in my travel bag, but I also use them almost daily. Buy at quality drug stores and grocery stores or on Amazon here.
Compressed Towel Tablets
These compressed tablet towels are fantastic. They expand with a little water and are great to wash your face and freshen up with. They take up almost no room and these ones are individually wrapped which keeps them clean. We take them on every trip! They cost less than $10 for a bag of 100. Check them out on Amazon.
Favorite Travel Backpack: Knack Backpack (Series 2: Expandable Medium Pack)
We have tried A LOT of travel backpacks and bags over the years. Knack backpacks are our current favorite. This backpack fits under most airplane seats for easy access. It is comfortable to wear, expandable, and has lots of pockets including a great laptop pocket. They are very well designed and well made. The company also provides fantastic customer support if you ever need it. Check them out here.

Favorite Packable Backpack: Matador Freefly 16
If you currently don’t travel with a nice packable backpack, you should give it a try. We use it all the time for day trips. Whether going to the market, beach, or a hike, you won’t believe how often you will use this. Yes, you might already travel with a travel backpack, like the Knack Backpack listed above, but, if you want to use it for day trips during your trip you will need to unpack it. Trust us, try using a travel backpack instead. Check out the Matador DL16 Packable Backpack Packable Backpack on Amazon
Compression Packing Cubes
It took me a number of years to try using packing cubes when I travel. I’ve been using them for the last three years and am hooked and highly recommend giving them a try. There are lots of good ones out there, but I like these packing cubes from Eagle Creek. Check out these Eagle Creek Pack-it Specter Compression Cube Set on Amazon.
Etekcity Luggage Scale
It’s always good to own a luggage scale for those times you want to travel with bigger bags. It is not fun when you show up at the airport to check your bag and it is over the weight allowance. For roughly $10, this is worth having. Check out the Etekcity Digital Luggage Scale on Amazon
