Airline Industry Faces Major Pilot Shortage

The US airline industry is facing a serious problem – a major lack of pilots.

This potential crisis is caused because the majority of pilots are reaching retirement age, airlines are instituting more rest time for pilots, and new regulations require more flight hours and costly training to become a professional pilot. FYI this is a HUGE opportunity for aspiring pilots to head to flight school to earn their license.

According to the Wall Street Journal, there are currently 96,000 licensed pilots working in the industry. It is predicted that in the next 8 years, the industry will have to hire 65,000 more pilots, with at least 1,500 hours of flight time, just to meet demands.

This is big news for anyone who wants to fly and get paid.
