American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS). AIFS is “one of the oldest, largest and most respected cultural exchange organizations in the world.” Their programs include study abroad, au pair placements, summer camp and high school travel for international and American applicants. https://www.aifs.com/

American Work Experience (AWE). Their website says it all: “AWE provides young people from around the world with the opportunity to experience the United States in a way that is both fun and educational. As a designated sponsor of a J-1 cultural exchange program, AWE offers people aged 18 to 28 a variety of unique options to work and travel in the U.S. for a four-month period during their summer holiday.” https://www.aweusa.com/

Association for International Practical Training (AIPT). According to their website, “AIPT provides educational and professional exchange experiences that enhance cultural awareness, develop global competencies, mutual understanding, and international cooperation.” Their programs carry a heavier career focus than most, and assist Americans and international applicants in the visa and job placement processes. https://www.aipt.org/

Alliance Abroad. An umbrella organization for several international services, Alliance Abroad provides a variety of programs throughout the world. They claim that “We specialize in a variety of programs to answer every individual need, and we act on what we believe by providing high-quality placements and 24/7 personal assistance prior, during and after your experience.” https://www.allianceabroad.com/

BUNAC. This well-respected organization offers work and volunteer abroad programs in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, China, Ghana, Cambodia, Peru and Costa Rica. Their programs range from five weeks to two years, and include assistance with visas and travel as well as on-going support while you’re abroad. https://www.bunac.org/

Camp America. One of the UK’s most popular work abroad programs, Camp America guarantees placement at an American summer camp.

CCUSA. The “international working adventure specialist,” CCUSA specializes in summer camp jobs around the world. Current destinations include the USA, the UK, Australia, Russia, China, Croatia, Mexico and South Africa, and other work and volunteer opportunities have recently been added to their choices. https://www.ccusa.com/country.aspx

CDS International. Like AIPT, CDS emphasizes professional advancement through working abroad. They offer several internships, exchanges and development programs, as well as short-term tours to business-specific locales. https://www.cdsintl.org/

Council International Educational Exchange (CIEE). CIEE promotes “a world of opportunity” through its study abroad, professional training, and work and travel options. Geared largely towards international applicants hoping to work in the US, CIEE places participants in teaching jobs and seasonal work and also caters to high school students or recent graduates. https://www.ciee.org/

Greenforce. A non-profit, environmentally centered company, Greenforce organizes a huge range of interesting volunteer and work programs in some of the world’s most exotic and exciting places. https://www.greenforce.org/

Interexchange. A large organization providing numerous opportunities to work in the USA and work abroad programs for Americans, Interexchange’s options range from seasonal work to being an au pair to professional job placements. International Cooperative Education (ICE). ICE places American college students in international jobs and internships. Real Gap Experience. Real Gap places British citizens in work and volunteer positions around the globe.
