Army Rangers are the real deal. They are highly trained, elite soldiers who are capable of almost anything. They are smart, motivated, disciplined, courageous, tough, driven, and hardened soldiers. If you’re an Army Ranger, we salute you.

To become an Army Ranger, you must enlist in the US Army. Males and females that are at least 18 years old can request to join the 75th Ranger Regiment – an elite airborne light infantry combat unit. Then you are required to complete basic training, have no physical limitations, and perform well on all mental and physical tests.

Next you can attend the Ranger Selection and Assessment Program. If you are chosen, you will volunteer for Ranger School where you will learn combat leadership, small unit tactics, and other unconventional warfare strategies in different phases called “crawl,” “walk,” and “run.” Ranger School is designed to test you mentally and physically. If you pass, you will be one of the world’s most elite soldiers and you will join a brotherhood of Rangers who proudly serve their country.

After completing Ranger School, Rangers wear the Ranger Tab on the upper left shoulder of their military uniform. They are organized into Ranger Battalions and are overseen by the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Rangers continue to operate and train in their commando battalions where they fine-tune their battle skills and individual roles. Rangers work as radio operators, forward observers, medics, team leaders, squad leaders, platoon sergeants, or other positions.

Rangers are always ready for deployment. They can be ordered to any combat theater in the world at a moments notice. They may be training on Saturday in Fort Benning, Georgia and on Sunday they may seize an airfield on the other side of the world. It’s unpredictable when or where a Ranger will deploy. That’s why they must be prepared for anything at anytime.

Ranger training covers a wide variety of topics that prepare Rangers for combat. Army Rangers are experts at raids, ambushes, sabotage, subversion, guerrilla warfare, reconnaissance, mountaineering, demolitions, counterterrorism, airborne assaults, airfield seizures, close combat, equipment recovery, clandestine insertion, and other military operations. They can handle any mission.

Being an Army Ranger is a dangerous job. Anytime you are at war, you are in harm’s way. As a Ranger you are putting your life on the line for your team and your country. It’s your job to carry out secret missions in enemy territory – leading the way for fellow Rangers and soldiers. It’s an honorable and respectable career choice.

Army Rangers make between $18,000 and $64,000 per year plus military benefits. Pay depends on their military rank and the amount of time they have been enlisted in the Army. They may also receive bonuses if they are deployed. There will always be a need for Army Rangers to help protect the United States.

If you are mentally sharp, physically fit, and want to serve your country, consider becoming one of the US Army’s most highly trained military warriors – an Army Ranger.
