Via Train or Bus
Younger travelers to Central and Eastern Europe often choose to fly from North America to a major city in Western Europe and then travel the rest of the way by train or bus.
Though considerably slower than flying, traveling overland has several advantages. If you want to save some money on airfare, traveling from North America to London, Amsterdam, or Frankfurt is usually the cheapest. Remember, though, that you have to add the cost of your train fare to your destination in Poland to your airfare in order to compare overall travel costs. International train and bus fares in Europe are not cheap, so if your budget is tight you may want to calculate the cost of the entire trip before you decide which route to take. Train or bus travel affords you the opportunity to see more of the European continent, and it gives you the ability to stop off in different places along the way. This is especially true of train travel – just make sure you have the kind of ticket that enables you to re-board without having to pay extra.
