Airport Driver Duties
Drivers operate various airfield vehicles, such as food trucks, ramp stand, employee buses, conveyors, cleaning equipment, fuel trucks, and other equipment. The equipment is driven to and from the aircraft. At the aircraft the driver is often responsible for operating machinery necessary to get the job done. Airport Driver Qualifications
Drivers must be able to work in all weather conditions and be in good enough condition to handle the physical work load as well as loud and continuous airplane engine noise. Some mechanical aptitude is helpful, as is a good driving record. Average salary is similar to other ramp personnel: $8 to $10 an hour.
