Airline Freight Sales Rep Duties
Freight sales representatives have the responsibility of coordinating all freight that is shipped on a particular flight.
Duties include determining each flight's freight allowance, quoting rates to potential shippers, securing sales, preparing invoices, and tracking freight once it has been shipped.
Airline Freight Sales Rep Qualifications
Freight sales representatives must meet other general airline hiring requirements (usually at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or its equivalent) as well as possess other skills such as being quick on one's feet, being able to deal with the public and make sales, making quick decisions, prioritizing, and working quickly and efficiently. Computer and phone skills are also a plus. Average starting pay: $26,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
