Airport Serviceperson Maintenance Jobs

Airport Serviceperson Maintenance Duties

Depending on the airport, servicepersons can either be directly hired by the airport authorities or contracted out.

Servicepersons serve as the maintenance people of the airport, cutting grass, removing snow, servicing runway lights, performing janitorial work, and being responsible for the general upkeep of the airport.

Airport Serviceperson Maintenance Qualifications

Most such positions are entry-level and can lead to other airport jobs. Since the maintenance department within an airport can be rather vast, qualifications depend on the specific duties. For instance, janitorial positions do not require previous experience, while trade positions like plumber or electrician require more know-how and at least one year of work experience. The average starting salary ranges widely from $20,000–$45,000 per year, depending on experience and the skills needed by the position.
