STATE AGENCIES EMPLOYMENT - INTRODUCTION |
|
An often overlooked source of outdoor jobs exists at the state level. While
scores of outdoors people vie for a limited number of jobs with well-known federal agencies such as the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service, many individual states have
trouble staffing those same types of positions.Departments offering seasonal outdoor positions range from agriculture to aquaculture, parks to forests, conservation to geology. Many of these jobs are similar or even identical to those available with federal agencies, including firefighters, wildlife biologists, forestry technicians, park rangers, research assistants, and maintenance workers.
