State Agency Salaries
Pay ranges for state outdoor jobs vary depending on the type of work performed. As with the federal government, positions requiring special skills or training pay more than entry-level jobs.
Many states have an established pay grade scale in which each position falls into a particular wage category. You'll find job listings, some with pay information, in our Job Center.
An entry-level seasonal job in the outdoors with a state agency typically pays at least as well as a federal job doing the same type of work. In any case, it's an excellent way to save money for the school year while at the same time gaining valuable skills.
