LAS VEGAS SANDS JOBS

This Las Vegas, Nevada, based company owns The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, the Sands Expo and Convention Center and The Sands Macau in the People's Republic of China (PRC) Special Administrative Region of Macau. Founded in 1988, this corporation was the owner and operator of The Sands Hotel, which was demolished in 1996 to accommodate The Venetian, which opened its doors in 1999. This is the first American company to break into the Macau gambling market. The world's sixth richest man, Sheldon Adelson, is its owner, president and chief operating officer. He boasts that his company will soon be mainly a Chinese operation and that Las Vegas should now be called, "America's Macau," based on his accurate prediction last year that Macau would top the earnings of the Las Vegas Strip.

In February of 2008, Adelson announced that the company has acquired two L-1011 aircraft, which it plans to use to import gamblers from Asia to Las Vegas. The aircraft will be equipped with baccarat tables that can be played while over international waters using established lines of credit. According to gaming officials, the Nevada gaming tax will not apply to these wagers.

Adelson also has big developmental plans for the Cotai Strip of Macau.
