Hiroshima is a modern, industrialized city that was completely rebuilt after World War II. Today it's a prosperous, not especially attractive city located near the beautiful islands of the Inland Sea. There are fewer teaching
opportunities here than in Tokyo or Osaka, of course, but less competition as well.

ferries. Within the city use Japanese Railway (JR), and buses. Places of Interest A-Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima-jo Castle, Shukkein Garden Ex-pat Hangouts Two great places to meet ex-pats are Mac which is on Chuodori, and Harry's Bar, which gives a discount on drinks to foreigners (for once in your travels, you'll pay less than the locals!) Keep your eyes open for the English signs for the bars.
