Xi’an is in the Shaanxi province in north-central China.


The climate is smoggy in fall, cold in winter, and extremely hot in summer. Spring is the most pleasant time of year.


Xi’an is one of the best-connected cities in China. There are international flights to Nagoya, Japan, and domestic flights to all major cities. Trains also connect Xi’an to all major cities, and are a much more comfortable way to travel than the buses. Taxis are abundant, buses go everywhere, and you should have no problem if you want to rent or buy a bicycle.

Places of Interest

The Central Block of Xi’an is surrounded by city walls, and within these walls you will find the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, the Great Mosque, and the Muslim Quarter. Outside of this central area, visit the Big Goose Pagoda, the Little Goose Pagoda, the Shaanxi History Museum, and the Banpo Neolithic Village.
