Most schools operate year-round, usually in ten-week sessions. The busiest time for new teaching contracts is fall. Don't go to Indonesia during Ramadan,
which falls in the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, and expect to find a job as many schools close for the month-long holiday. You can plan to have the following holidays off work: - January 1: New Year's Day
- Mid-March (2 days): Idul Fitri (end of Ramadan)
- April 21: Kartini Day
- August 17: Independence Day
- December 25: Christmas Day
